Kirkland, WA. (September 19,
2005) - Electronic
Data Systems (EDS) has awarded The Software Revolution, Inc. (TSRI) a contract to
expand the automated capabilities of TSRI’s JANUSTM toolset to encompass the automated modernization of the PL/1 language. The effort will
focus on the modification of JANUSTM to create the necessary PL/1 gateway and on the
ability to lift PL/1 into the toolset’s Intermediate Object Model (IOM). Once that is accomplished, TSRI in concert
with EDS will modernize a legacy PL/1 system of EDS’ choosing.
Randy Doblar, TSRI's Chief Operating Officer said, "TSRI and EDS have worked closely together to come to the point where at the conclusion of this effort, our team will be able to synergistically address the plethora of PL/1 modernization opportunites that exist today throughout industry. By blending the exceptional
depth and breadth of EDS’ IT expertise with TSRI’s unique and proven
technology, TSRI will create a new and powerful automated modernization
capability for PL/1 that will be unmatched in the IT industry.”
