Kirkland, WA. (January 15, 2004) - Science Applications
International Corporation (SAIC) has awarded The Software
Revolution, Inc. (TSRI) a sole source contract, under
the auspices of the Space and Naval Warfare System Command
(SPAWARSYSCOM), to modernize the Navy's Network Warfare
Command's (NETWARCOM's) Engineering Operational Sequencing
System (EOSS).
TSRI will port the functionality represented by the existing
VAX hosted EOSS accountability system to a new N-tiered web-enabled
application. EOSS will be modernized into J2EE, using Microsoft IIS
running on an Intel-based server as the front-end and J2EE/Oracle
running on a Sun SparcServer as the back-end.
Randy Doblar, TSRI's Vice President of Sales &
Marketing said, "The EOSS modernization project affords TSRI the
opportunity to exercise all its capabilities for the Navy -
assessment of the legacy system; transformation of the applications
code and database into a modern computing environment; re-factoring
(re-engineering) of the code and database to improve system
maintainability; and web-enablement of the new system to create a
system that is Navy Marine Corp Intranet compliant. At the same
time, TSRI and SAIC have the opportunity to join forces and show
the Navy and others what can be accomplished by our two companies
working in tandem."
